I'm hoping I did her justice in this piece. Anthy isn't usually the character I identify with, but for the prompt, I just somehow got the idea for this story. Her being in that dark coffin and coming out of it was really the start of this story.
And when I watched the episodes in question again, I saw that Akio said that Anthy chose to be the Rose Bride and I was like "Does that not mean that she can also chose otherwise?". Also other meta that I've read on Utena got me thinking too about Anthy and how much she is seen as a passive person.
I'm actually starting to think of writing a companion piece to this about Utena and how she's sorta been blinded by the light and idealism and how she needed to get off the high horse so to say to understand Anthy?
